Soooo, its been a minute since I posted and it was all due to a messy and chaotic studio space. The studio was pretty close to what it needed to be but not quite. When you want to start painting fern leaves to make two plants and the only open space is balancing on the top of a picture box on a foam tray, its time to do something.
So I stood in the room to decide just what was not working. I had some pretty good lighting already but needed a bit more task lighting on the actual table. I have a bar style light that clamps onto the table but only one of them. This light was on clearance at Joann’s and I’m not sure why I only bought one. Second light was just added to the list.
Talking about the tables, lol! My current setup was two sets of L shaped desks that had 3 pieces each. It was two straights and a curved corner piece. I took off the corners and pushed the four straight sections together. The length was good and the width was good but the cracks in between were not. Tables were just added to the list.
Next up, addressing why everything is on the floor, lol! Besides having way to much stuff and needing to purge its all pointing to organized storage. What kind of storage will work best? I have looked at various options even the Dreambox. This is a large cabinet that closes but has a large footprint when open and I need every inch of space. The draw backs with the box where the footprint and cost of the box. But what was it that drew me to it in the first place quite a few years ago, it was all of the little containers on shelves. There it is I need drawers. So how was I going to get drawer space? Drawer storage was added to the list.
So the list now has lighting, worktop, and storage drawers. Another issue in the room is seating. If someone comes over and comes down to the studio I have to pull out a folding chair and make a bigger path to set the chair down. I have an old wooden rolling office chair that I do love and a old side chair that I tried to reupholster the seat with a cheery fabric. So seating is now on the list.
How about a little bit of decoration. I don’t have much room for decorations on walls and things but had to be able to pull the room together some how. That would be in a color I first saw back in 2014, Pantones color of the year was Radiant Orchid. I had bought some of the paint it was on a shelf. The cheery fabric I bought around that time also so the color was great.
But here we are and that is no longer the color of the year so what color will it be.
